Description:

3-Methylindene-2-carboxylic acid is a potent antagonist that blocks the effects of naphthalene and other chemicals. It has been synthesized as a chiral molecule with two isomers, one of which is active and the other inactive. The compound has high activity against the endpoint of inhibition concentration, but it also has toxicities. 3-Methylindene-2-carboxylic acid can be synthesised from cinchonidine methyl ester or by ionisation mass spectrometry.
