Synonyms:
  • Benzoyl Chloride, 3-Methyl-2-Nitro-
Description:

3-Methyl-2-nitrobenzoylchloride is a nitro compound that is used as a precursor in the synthesis of cinnoline. It has been shown to be an effective electron donor for the generation of photocurrent in aqueous solution, which can be used for wastewater treatment. 3-Methyl-2-nitrobenzoylchloride has also been shown to have thrombotic, anticoagulant, and coagulation properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit blood clotting at low concentrations. The morphology of this compound has not been studied extensively but it has been suggested that it could exist as either a crystalline or amorphous solid.
