4-Methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole is an indole derivative that can be synthesized by the n-substitution of an indole. This compound has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase. 4-Methoxy-2-methyl-1H-indole is also a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis and cell division.
