Product Information
- Pyrimidine, 2-methyl-
2-Methylpyrimidine is a water-soluble compound that is used as an intermediate in the production of other substances. It has inhibitory activities and can be activated by acid catalysts such as chlorine or bromine atoms. It also inhibits the activity of activated protein kinase C and other enzymes. 2-Methylpyrimidine has been shown to have antitumor effects against BCR-ABL positive cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit vitamin B1 synthesis.
2-Methylpyrimidine is not toxic to plants, but it can cause eye irritation and skin sensitization in humans.
