Product Information
- 2-methylsulfanyl-quinoline2-Methylmercapto-chinolin2-ethylthioquinoline
- Quinoline, 2-(Methylthio)-
2-Methylsulfanylquinoline is a nitro, carbostyril, reactive, quinoline derivative that has shown to be an inhibitor of the NS3 protease. It can also inhibit the virus replication in vitro by inhibiting the activity of NS3 protease and ns3 protease. 2-Methylsulfanylquinoline was found to be a competitive inhibitor for the nucleophilic attack on the sulfhydryl group of enzymes such as protein kinases and DNA polymerases. The hydroxyl group on 2-methylsulfanylquinoline forms a hydrogen bond with the oxygen atom in water. This allows 2-methylsulfanylquinoline to act as a general base and react with acids to form salts.
