Methyl 2-formylphenoxyacetate is a chemical that is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to have inhibitory activity against cancer cells, with a chloride ion being required for this activity. Methyl 2-formylphenoxyacetate may act as an analog of phenoxyphenol and be useful in the treatment of cancer.
