Description:

3-Methyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole is an amide with a furyl group. It has been shown to be a potent CB2 receptor agonist. 3-Methyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole is used in pharmaceutical preparations for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. The active substance also has a nitro functional group and can be hydrolyzed to form nitric oxide (NO) by hydrochloric acid or hydroxylamine. 3-Methyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole is also a quinoline derivative with an aromatic hydrocarbon ring system that contains sulfamic acid as the functional group. This compound has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
