Description:
4-Methyl-1,2,3-thiadiazole-5-carbaldehyde is a fusarium mycotoxin that has been shown to have anti-fungal properties. It has been shown to be an effective fungicide against Alternaria, Pythium and Cinerea species. 4MTTAC can be used as a lead compound in the development of new fungicides. It was also found to be active against Fusarium moniliforme, which is one of the fungi responsible for causing eumycetoma in humans. 4MTTAC was found to have an EC50 value of 0.0025 ppm in bioassays with Alternaria and Botrytis cinerea fungi. The elemental analysis showed that it contains carbon, hydrogen and sulfur atoms.
