1-(2-Methoxyphenethyl)piperazine (1-MPP) is a psychoactive drug that has been used as a recreational drug. 1-MPP is not approved for any medical use, it's classified as a nonmedical substance, and has been shown to be toxic in animal studies. It is metabolized by the liver into piperazine and 2-methoxyamphetamine, which are also psychoactive drugs. The toxicological effects of 1-MPP include increased heart rate, high blood pressure, convulsions, coma, and death.
