4-Methoxy-3-nitrobenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride is a multitarget agent that has affinity for the chloride channel. It is used in medicinal chemistry to produce derivatives with antileukemia activity. 4-Methoxy-3-nitrobenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride is a diazotization reagent that reacts with primary amines to form nitro compounds, which are useful for the synthesis of pyrrole derivatives and deacetylases. This reagent also reacts with bromodomains and has been shown to have antileukemia activity in mice.
