It is an acyclic fluoroquinolone that has been optimised for anti-cancer activity. The family includes duocarmycin and other related compounds, such as 3-(2-morpholinoethoxy)benzimidazole, 3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-5-morpholinopyridine, and 5-(4-methylpiperazine)-1-(2-morpholinobenzoyl)benzimidazole.
