Product Information
Methyl 4-amino-2-sulfamoylbenzoate (MSB) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It also has fungicidal properties, and can be used as a triazole fungicide. MSB is able to inhibit anhydrase activity and cyclic carbonic modifications in cancer cells. This agent was synthesized by modifying the sulfonyl group at position 2 of the aromatic ring with methyl groups to form a galactosyl moiety. The resulting molecule has been conjugated to various other molecules, such as pyrrolidone, in order to target tumor cells and prevent their growth.
MSB is useful for inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosome level, which blocks cell division and causes apoptosis.
