It can be found in leaves, which are the natural environment for many pathogens and parasites. 3-Methylpent-1-yn-3-amine has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against fungi, including some strains of Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium chrysogenum, and Trichoderma viride. This compound also has antifungal properties against chlorophyllous fungi such as Cladosporium cladosporioides, Cladosporium herbarum, and Cochliobolus heterostrophus.
