Description:
2-Methyl-6-methoxypyridine-3-boronic acid is a situational ligand that has affinity for the serotonin transporter. It is synthesized from 2,6-dimethoxybenzoic acid and 3-methylpyridine in three steps using a series of reactions. 2-Methyl-6-methoxypyridine-3-boronic acid has been studied as a potential antidepressant drug with pharmacokinetic properties that are favorable for oral administration. This compound was developed to have antagonist effects on corticotropin release and has shown clinical trials with promising results.
