Description:

Methyl 2-(2-bromoethyl)benzoate is an organic compound that is used in the industrial production of methylester. It is a nucleophilic anion that can be used to synthesize diarylpropane, a synthetic intermediate for polyester resins. Methyl 2-(2-bromoethyl)benzoate has been shown to have antagonist properties against leukotriene receptors and can be used as a tetrabromide salt. It can also be used as hydrogen peroxide or hydroiodide source for synthesis of sulfides, which are important for the treatment of allergic asthma.
