Product Information
- Manganous Sulphate H2O
- Manganous Sulphate 1-Hydrate
- Manganese (Ii) Sulphate 1H20
Manganous sulfate hydrate is a manganese salt that is soluble in water and has an experimental solubility of 1.3 g/L at 25°C. It is used as a co-factor for glutathione reductase (GSH-Px), which is an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of oxidized glutathione to its reduced form. Manganous sulfate hydrate is also used as a source of manganese and as a catalyst in organic reactions. This compound can be synthesized by reacting sodium sulfate with copper chloride, sodium citrate, or anhydrous sodium in water, yielding manganous sulfate monohydrate, which then reacts with zirconium oxide at high temperatures to produce manganesulfate hydrate.
Manganous sulfate hydrate can be detected using surface methodology, such as atomic force microscopy and plasma mass spectrometry.
