4-(Methylsulfonylamino)benzylamine hydrochloride is a cationic surfactant that can be used for the prevention of microbial growth. It has been shown to have microbicidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 4-(Methylsulfonylamino)benzylamine hydrochloride may also be useful in preventing or treating microbial infections in bone tissue.
