Description:

5-Methyl-2-(2h-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)benzoic acid is an organic solvent that is used for the extraction and purification of benzoic acid. It can also be used as a reagent in the production of other compounds. 5-Methyl-2-(2h-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)benzoic acid reacts with palladium and acidic conditions to form an insoluble complex that can be separated from the reaction mixture by filtration or chromatography. This compound has been shown to react with cyanide to form benzene and hydrogen cyanide gas.
