Product Information

Name:
Methyl 2-amino-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate
Description:

Methyl 2-amino-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate is an organic solvent that is used in pharmaceutical drug production. It has been shown to react with nucleophiles, including histidine and metal ions, by a nucleophilic attack. The reaction between methyl 2-amino-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate and histidine was shown to be stereoselective as the product formed was the S enantiomer. This compound also reacts with metal ions such as copper. Methyl 2-amino-3-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)propanoate has been shown to be acidic and labile in tissues such as skin. It can be used for kinetic analysis in clinical chemistry, where it is chromatographically separated into its two components, methyl 2-(1H imidazol 4 yl) propanoate and methyl
