Description:
6-Methoxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acid is a copper chromite inhibitor that can be used to inhibit growth factor in the early stages of cell culture. It is also an anti-viral agent, inhibiting the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 and herpes simplex virus type 2. 6-Methoxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to have neuroprotective properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit proinflammatory mediators such as hydrogen bond and protocatechuic acid. This compound also inhibits lysosomal degradation by binding to the hydroxyl groups on lysosomal membranes. The metabolic profile of 6-methoxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acid includes phenolic acids, citric acid, malic acid, and dry weight.
