Description:
4-Methoxyphenylmagnesium bromide (4MPMG) is a chloride salt that is soluble in THF. It is an optimal reagent for the synthesis of amides, especially those with unsaturated alkyl groups. This compound was used in a study to synthesize a series of estrogen receptor modulators. The structure of 4MPMG was determined by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. 4MPMG has been shown to be cytotoxic, but it does not bind to estrogen receptors.
