4-Methoxy-1H-indazol-3-amine is a colorimetric chemosensor that reacts with glutathione in the presence of hydrogen peroxide to produce a yellow color. The sensing range for 4-methoxy-1H-indazol-3-amine is from 0.02 to 1 mM glutathione. This compound has been shown to be an effective sensor for the detection of hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide, and can also be used as a chemosensor for the detection of hydrazine.
