Product Information
Methanediamine dihydrochloride is a cross-linking agent that is used to increase the resistance of glycol ethers to hydrolysis. Methanediamine dihydrochloride is a crystalline solid that has been shown to be stable in the presence of strong acids, bases, and oxidizing agents. It also has high resistance to ethylene diamine and trifluoroacetic acid, which are often used as solvents for glycol ethers. Methanediamine dihydrochloride has been shown to form reaction products when reacted with hydrochloric acid or carbonyl groups present in detergent compositions, although the precise nature of these products have yet to be determined.
Methanediamine dihydrochloride has been used clinically as an adjunct treatment for hyperkeratotic skin disorders such as psoriasis and ichthyosis vulgaris.
