Methyl 2,2-dichloro-2-methoxyacetate is a silicone with the chemical formula CH3ClO(CH2)2COOC(CH3)3. It is also known as monomethyl chlorosilane. This compound is an intermediate in the synthesis of other silicone compounds and it is used in the production of silicone resins, which are used to coat metals and plastics.
