Description:

6-Maleimido-1-hexanol is a water soluble, low yield compound. It has been shown to have a reactive group that can be used for cross-linking or dimerization reactions. 6-Maleimido-1-hexanol can be reacted with cyanuric chloride in order to form a piperazine. This reaction is followed by an azide displacement reaction, which releases cyanuric acid from the piperazine ring. The compound can also be used in optical microscopy as a fluorescent probe and has been shown to react with nucleophiles such as water and hydroxide ions.
