It inhibits tuberculostatic activity by binding to adrenergic receptors in human serum, 5-HT1A, and 5-HT2A. It has been shown to inhibit the production of creatinine sulfate in urine samples and to have antioxidative properties. The drug also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects, as it has been shown to inhibit the activation of monocytes, cytokines, and chemokines. 5MT is also a serotonin receptor antagonist with anti-depressant properties.
