Methyl 4-sulfamoylbenzoate (MSB) is an antiglaucoma drug that has been shown to be effective in clinical studies. It is a drug binding agent and an immunomodulatory drug, which affects the nervous system. MSB binds to carbonic anhydrase and inhibits the enzyme's activity, preventing the conversion of carbon dioxide and water into bicarbonate ions and hydrogen ions. This inhibition of carbonic acid production leads to a decrease in intraocular pressure. MSB has been shown to be active against some viruses, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), influenza A virus, and poliovirus type 1. The molecular docking analysis of MSB with HSV-1 protein reveals that this agent can bind to amino acid residues Asp190, Lys197, Arg198,
