Methyl-2-naphthalenemethylamine is a benzene derivative that is used as an intermediate in the production of medicines, sulfate, and impurities. It is also used to produce terbinafine hydrochloride, which belongs to the group of medicines called allylamines. Methyl-2-naphthalenemethylamine can be alkylated with anhydrous sodium sulfate and then recrystallized from an alkali solution. The product contains less than 0.5% impurities.
