It has been shown to inhibit cancer cells by halting the production of proteins that are required for cell division. 2-Methyl-5-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a multi-kinase inhibitor, meaning it inhibits various protein kinases, including c-terminal domain serine/threonine kinase (CTK) and MCL1. This drug also has the ability to inhibit polymerase activity and transcriptional regulation in cancer cells. 2-Methyl-5-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride can be used intraperitoneally or orally to treat cancer cells.
