Description:

2-Morpholinobenzaldehyde (2-MAB) is a curcumin analogue that has shown anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties. It binds to cavities on the surface of proteins, which inhibits the binding of insulin to its receptor. 2-MAB has also been shown to inhibit the activity of infectious diseases, such as HIV, by inhibiting viral protein synthesis. 2-MAB may have therapeutic potential for autoimmune diseases and radiation injury. 2-MAB is reactive with inorganic compounds and can be used as a stain for electron microscopy.
