Description:

O-Myosmine is an aromatic compound that is a derivative of the amino acid phenylalanine. It can be synthesized from the enamines of acetoacetic esters and alkynes. The bromination of o-myosmine yields the compound o-bromo-o-myosmine, which can then be used in annulation reactions to produce pyridines. O-Myosmine has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
