6-Methoxy-4-quinolyl)(5-vinyl-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-yl)methanol is a positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand that binds to the human cyp3a4 enzyme and is used in the study of drug interactions. This molecule has an inhibitory effect on the NADPH cytochrome P450 enzyme and cellular membranes, leading to cell death. 6-Methoxy-4-quinolyl)(5-vinyl-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-yl)methanol has been shown to be an analog of quinine, a drug used in the treatment of malaria and some other infectious diseases.
