6-Methoxy-4-Chromanone is a drug that has been used in the treatment of epilepsy, but it is not currently available. It has been found to be effective in preventing seizures induced by pentylenetetrazole and isoniazid, as well as in reducing neurotoxicity caused by thiosemicarbazide and chroman. 6-Methoxy-4-Chromanone belongs to the class of carbamazepine, an anticonvulsant drug that inhibits hmg coa reductase and mevinolin reductase. Carbamazepine also has an effect on bicuculline and hmg coa reductase.
