Product Information
- B-(4-METHOXY-3-METHYLPHENYL)BORONIC ACID
- 4-Methoxy-3-methylphenylboronic acid
4-Methoxy-3-methylbenzeneboronic acid is a boronic acid that is used in the synthesis of amides. It is synthesized by the cross-coupling reaction of an organolithium compound with 4-methoxybenzeneboronic acid. This synthetic intermediate can be hydrolyzed to form a chloride, which can then be converted to an amide by reacting with ammonia or primary amine.
4-Methoxy-3-methylbenzeneboronic acid has been shown to act as an inhibitor of dehydrogenase enzymes, such as 3α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, which are involved in the production of steroids from cholesterol. In addition, 4-methoxybenzeneboronic acid has been used for the stereoselective synthesis of chiral compounds and nitro compounds. The target enzyme specificity and stereoselect
