4-Methylpyridine-3-boronic acid is a synthetic chemical that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of nevirapine. This chemical is a boronic acid amide derivative, which has been synthesized using a modular approach. The synthesized 4-methylpyridine-3-boronic acid was then recrystallized with hydrochloric acid to yield pure product. This compound reacts with nucleophiles (e.g., ammonia) at its methyl group to form the corresponding amide. The kinetic studies were performed by turbidimetric method and showed low yields for this reaction.
