Description

Methyl 6-bromo-2-naphthoate is an eluting compound that binds with a hydroxyl group to the gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor. It has been shown to have high binding constants and the ability to bind to protein data. Methyl 6-bromo-2-naphthoate has been shown to inhibit the production of GABA in fetal bovine brain slices, which may be due to its ability to bind selectively with this receptor. This agent also inhibits cell proliferation and induces cell death in culture by interacting with proteins involved in cell cycle regulation.
