Mandelic acid 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl ester is a biologically active compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and anti-infectious properties. It is found in the rhizoma gastrodiae plant and is used as an ingredient in medications for bowel disease. Mandelic acid 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl ester has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of cyclandelate-induced platelet aggregation. Mandelic acid 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl ester does not appear to cross the blood brain barrier and exhibits good biocompatibility with human serum.
