N-Methylcyclopropanamine hcl is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHClN. It is an alkylating agent that inhibits the activity of the proteasome, an enzyme complex that breaks down proteins in cells. N-Methylcyclopropanamine hcl has been shown to increase the activity of the proteasome and synergistically inhibits cancer cell growth by inhibiting calcium channel blockers. This drug also binds to and modulates the activity of cxcr3 and deubiquitinating enzymes in cells. The chlorine atom in this molecule can be replaced with a chlorine molecule to produce chlorambucil, which is a chemotherapy drug used for cancer treatment.
