4-Methylnonanoic acid is a fatty acid that is found in the diet and can be synthesized by mammals. It has been shown to have a matrix effect in vitro assays. 4-Methylnonanoic acid can also activate adipose cells, increase metabolic rate, and inhibit the production of triglycerides.
