The compound has been shown to be efficient against Gram-positive bacteria, including those resistant to antibiotics. 2-Methylbenzene-1-carbothioamide also has potent antiinflammatory activity in animal models of inflammatory pain and arthritis. Furthermore, it has been shown to have anticancer activity when tested in mice.
