Description:
4-Methylthiazole-2-carbaldehyde is a catalyst that is used in the enantioselective synthesis of chiral diamines. It is activated with triflate and copper to catalyze the coupling of aldehydes with amines. The product can be purified by chelation. 4-Methylthiazole-2-carbaldehyde also reacts with 2,4,6-trichlorophenylacetic acid to form an enantioenriched compound.
