Description:
3-Methylbenzyl chloride is a potential immobilized material for use in electrochemical biosensors. It has been shown that 3-methylbenzyl chloride can be used as an efficient method to extract chloride from water, with low energy consumption. 3-Methylbenzyl chloride also has the ability to extract halides from water. The structure of this compound is similar to alkali metals, which may explain its high affinity for chloride.
