Product Information
- 2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)Acetohydrazide
(4-Methoxyphenyl)acetic acid hydrazide is a synthetic anti-cancer drug with high cytotoxicity. It inhibits the production of peroxides by binding to the active site of peroxidases and inactivating them. (4-Methoxyphenyl)acetic acid hydrazide has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. The mechanism of action may be related to its ability to form imine or acylhydrazone derivatives that react with cellular nucleophiles and lead to cell death. (4-Methoxyphenyl)acetic acid hydrazide can also inhibit the formation of carrageenan, which is used as a food additive and thickener, by interfering with the enzyme carrageenan synthase.ref name="doi:10.1016/j.molcel.2011.02.024">/ref>
