Product Information
- 2-(Methylsulfanyl)-1,3-Thiazole
2-(Methylthio)thiazole is a chemical compound that has been shown to be a potent and selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This drug has been found in the plant species Haemonchus contortus, which causes gastrointestinal diseases in sheep and cattle. The structure activity relationship of 2-(methylthio)thiazole has been studied extensively. It inhibits proliferation of animal cells by interfering with the synthesis of proteins in the cell, preventing the formation of new cells. Sulfide reacts with 2-(methylthiodiazole) to create radical species, which are then alkylated by iodomethane or iodide to form an irreversible bond with the sulfide group. This reaction is reversible and can be reversed by adding hydrogen sulfide or sodium thiosulfate (R-SO2S). 2-(Methylthio)thiazole also binds to zinc ions and diffracts light at a wavelength of X-ray diffraction that
