Product Information
- 1-Methyl-3-(Trifluoromethyl)Pyrazole
1-Methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole is an organometallic compound that has been shown to be concomitantly effective against oxalyl and chloride in the biosynthesis of butyllithium. It has also been used in agricultural applications as a pesticide and for the dehydration of anilines. This heterocyclic organic compound can exist as two stereoisomers, which are mirror images of each other. The cis form is more stable than the trans form, with a melting point of -34°C and a boiling point of 130°C. 1-Methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole can be synthesized from triethyl orthoformate or by reacting anilines with sodium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide in the presence of catalytic amounts of copper(I) iodide.
