Description:
(S)-Methyl 5-guanidino-2-(4-methylphenylsulfonamido)pentanoate is a proteolytic enzyme inhibitor. It has been shown to have anticomplement activity and transcription-polymerase chain activities that are inhibited by the action of this drug. The enzyme’s activity is also inhibited by fatty acids, which bind to the active site of the enzyme. This drug has been shown to be effective against tubule cells in soybean trypsin. The drug also has a hydroxyl group, which may be important for its biological properties.
