Product Information
- 1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide, 1-methyl-
1-Methyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide (1m1c) is a nucleoside analog that is used in the research of nucleic acids. 1m1c binds to the exocyclic amine group of deoxyadenosine, which stabilizes the RNA phosphate backbone and prevents cleavage by RNase A. In addition, 1m1c has been shown to act as an inhibitor of DNA polymerases and reverse transcriptases. This synthetic compound can be used as a template for phosphoramidite synthesis, where it reacts with acetic anhydride to form an amide bond with phosphoramidite.
