Trans-4-Methylcyclohexylamine hydrochloride is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H14NHCl. It is an isomer of cyclohexanamine and can be prepared by reacting 4-methylcyclohexanol with hydrochloric acid. This compound is an intermediate in the synthesis of sulfones, which are used as antidiabetic agents. Trans-4-Methylcyclohexylamine hydrochloride can also be used to produce cyclic ethers, such as tetrahydrofuran, by the process of elimination.
