N-Methyl-4-anisidine is a chemical compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various quinoline derivatives. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on k562 cells and can be used for the treatment of cancer. N-Methyl-4-anisidine is synthesized from aniline and formaldehyde, which react together in a process called the Mannich reaction. The reaction involves the formation of a reactive imine intermediate, which then reacts with water and sodium carbonate to form methylene amine. This product also has kinetic properties that are dependent on pH, temperature, and concentration. In addition, this product is toxic to animals because it inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential, which may result in cell death.
