Description

2-Methylnaphthalene-1-boronic acid is a boronic acid that is used as a ligand in the polymerization of polyaromatic compounds. The efficiency of 2-methylnaphthalene-1-boronic acid in these reactions can be increased by optimizing the reaction conditions, such as temperature and solvent type. 2-Methylnaphthalene-1-boronic acids are also used as ligands in biomolecular chemistry. They have been used to study protein folding, crosslinking proteins, and binding to DNA. In addition, they have been used to study the optical properties of anthracenes at different temperatures. This compound has also been shown to undergo reductive elimination with potassium t-butoxide in nature.
